Genovese Family Capo hit with murder charge

Another Genovese crime family capo is a target for the fed’s. Anthony “Tico” Antico has been charged with the April 29, 2008 robbery and killing of Louis Antonelli. Antonelli a jeweler was fatally wounded in the botched robbery outside of a Staten Island restaurant. Antico will be charged with murder for orchestrating the robbery attempt along with another robbery caper months later where the target was a Brooklyn gambler who has won $1.6 million on a “Pick Six” horse racing wager.

The Fed’s say that Antico knew both men and he personally fingered both for the robbery attempts. The robbery of the Brooklyn gambler was never actually carried out and in December 2008 Antico was able to plea bargain his way then into the charge being dropped but still had a prison term to serve which was set to end in August of this year. This will be the third indictment of Antico since 2005 but he has found a way to plea bargain each of the first two down to only 54 months behind bars.

Antico is an aging capo in the Genovese family now 74 but he is still known to be quite influential inside the mafia family ranks. But now that the Fed’s have a cooperating witness from within the Genovese family they say this time there will be no plea bargain for Tico. Salvatore “Sally Fish” Maniscalco a Genovese turncoat has agreed to testify against Tico. Maniscalco has also given up mob associate John “Wizzie” Delutro as being part of the conspiracy to rob Antonelli and is set to get 20 years when sentenced in May. Another mob associate Anthony Pica is also charged along with Delutro and Antico but now with the new indictment of Antico the case will be delayed.

The Fed’s assault on the Genovese family and other New York mafia families continues. This latest indictment takes another old school member of the Genovese’s off the street likely for good.
