Nick Rizzuto Jr laid to rest
Funeral services are set to be held today for the son of Montreal Mafia boss Vito Rizzuto in the Little Italy district at one of its historic churches. Nick Rizzuto Jr who was found shot to death in Montreal on monday will be laid to rest. It is still unclear of Vito Rizzuto as such a request is confidential since Rizzuto is serving a 10 year sentence in Colorado for racketeering convictions tied to 3 brooklyn murders of Bonanno Family members Philip “Philly Lucky” Giaccone , Dominick “Big Trin” Trinchera , and Alphonse “Sonny Red” Indelicato.
The funeral will be held at the Church of the Madonna Della Difesa in Montreal which was built by Italian immigrants of the region. The funeral is expected to attrack Mafia members from Canada as well as New York. The Fed’s are sure to be ready and have a heavy dose of surveillance planned for the event.
The Montreal police are not releasing many details about the investigation into the shooting of Rizzuto. Witness reports detail a man in a hooded jacket flee the scene on foot and the murder weapon was recovered at the scene. But as to date the Monteal police say they have no suspects and are still following up any and all leads. Some mafia experts thing the killing could be internal and the settling of some vendetta or perhaphs a retaliation from Montreal’s rival street gangs having to do with the cities drug trade. Other believe this could be a hit authorized by other Ontario or Monteal Mafia clans in a move to gain power with much of the Rizzuto leadership behind bars.
