After the murder of Nick Rizzuto Jr many thought that the Rizzuto Family could be in for a Mafia war. Well the Rizzuto family is now under attack but it is not coming from the streets but instead from Revenue Canada on possible tax evasion charges. This may not be the attack that organized crime experts were waiting for but it could deal just as stiff a blow.

Nicolo Rizzuto who is the father of reputed Montreal Mafia boss Vito Rizzuto is being charged for not paying taxes on income received from 1994-1995. An investigation by Revenue Canada was initiated on February, 1st and Nicolo Rizzuto has already received a summons for an opening tax court date this Thursday. The investigation targeted a number if Swiss bank accounts that were discovered in 1994 but were under different names.

Rizzuto is said to owe a total of $150,000 in back taxes on undeclared income that totaled more then $620,000 made from various investments over the two years. Rizzuto pleaded guilty back in 2008 to charges of possession of proceeds of crime for benefit of running a criminal organization. He was sentenced to the time he had served while he waited on his ruling in the Project Colisee which was an investigation into the Montreal Mafia , but Rizzuto walked away from the case without being convicted and only retained a probationary sentence to serve.

The hits continue to come from all angles on the Rizzuto crime family and its now a wait and see as to if Nicolo Rizzuto will be joining his son behind bars. Between the attacks by law enforcement and the recent slayings of Rizzuto Family members Fredrico Del Peschio and Nick Rizzuto Jr the family has with out a doubt been rattled and how long can they maintain there power base is surely in question.
